Paula entered the Insurance Industry in 2001 by attending a career fair in Caledonia, MI and obtained her Property & Casualty Insurance license. She worked full time while finishing her last year at GVSU part time. She graduated Winter of 2003 from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science minoring in Occupational Safety and Health. She has worked in several roles part time while her three children were younger and the past 9 years as a full time Account Manager with an assigned book of business. She obtained her Life, Accident, and Health Insurance license in 2015.

After nearly 16 years working with clients regarding their auto, home, umbrella, seasonal homes, rental homes, recreational vehicles, and boats finding the right coverage with the right carrier that met their individual needs providing financial protection for the things they love, she decided to explore the Health Insurance side of the industry.

Making that career change in 2023 has been extremely rewarding with a much better work-life balance. It is enjoyable to be able to bring peace of mind to clients when life changes and they are uncertain what to do. During her own changes throughout life, she met with Kay Goodemoot who resolved her own family’s health insurance needs. She has been incredibly grateful for this opportunity to become a health insurance agent with Goodemoot Benefits Solutions where she can help many others in similar situations. She has been personally trained throughout the past year by Kay who has been in the industry many years and received guidance from her business partner Terri Bills and office assistant Judi DeVries. She is also thankful to be able to continue her career as a health insurance agent merging with Platinum Benefit Advisors. This brought such relief that something could work out and even for the better. This experience has allowed her to help others when they are out of work, between jobs, or looking to retire and it brings her immense joy to ease their mind during that time in their lives where they are unfamiliar with the options available to them. She is a great listener and will help her clients find the best health plan for their own individual needs and budget. 

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves being out in nature enjoying the beauty of Michigan’s seasons and has always loved animals (especially cats). She enjoys walking, hiking, riding E-bikes, pickleball and improving her swing on the golf course. She has been married for 22 years, has two adult sons, 19 and 18, and a 15-year-old daughter.
